CALL FOR PARTICIPATION: SUPPORTING DIVERSE PARTICIPATION IN STEM

The Annual Conference of the Canadian Education Association (CEEA), will be hosted by the University of Toronto on June 4-7th 2017. This conference will also include a Special Symposium on Supporting Diverse Participation in STEM, co-chaired by the Science Education Research Group of the Canadian Society for Studies in Education (SERG/CSSE).

CEEA brings together diverse scholarly individuals and companies interested in STEM initiatives from around the world in an inclusive, accessible forum (more info at: https://ceea.ca/en/). The conference also features a banquet to be held at beautiful Casa Loma, a historic castle overlooking the City of Toronto.

At this symposium, we’ll explore research and best practices in encouraging members of diverse communities to pursue, persist and flourish in STEM. All participants interested in presenting are asked to submit an abstract, using the required format for CEEA paper proposals (please refer to the CEEA call for papers (at https://ceea.ca/en/conferences/papers/?id=10). As part of the symposium, we hope to include a variety of session types including workshops, technical sessions, lightning talks and a poster session to provide participants with rich interactive experiences.

If you’d like to contribute, and/or have questions, please contact Prof. Chirag Variawa at chirag.variawa@utoronto.ca

Including a short description of your ideas/contributions will help facilitate logistics and planning. Paper and workshop submission deadlines are as per conference deadlines.
