The inaugural AAEE Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Symposium in Engineering Education Research offers an opportunity for Masters by Research and PhD candidates to explore and develop their research projects under the guidance of well-known senior scholars led by Prof. Les Dawes and Prof. Olivera Marjanovic. During the HDR Symposium, participants will share their current dissertation work, exchanging feedback, as well as network with peers.
The aims of the symposium are for HDR students to:
- Network with other students to extend their network in EER,
- Present and constructively discuss their own work and the work of others,
- Receive constructive feedback and input from scholars outside their own institution, and,
- Contribute to the AAEE community.
The HDR symposium will run online on Friday 04 December as a ½ day pre-conference workshop (time TBC) for the AAEE2020 Conference. All participants must also be registered for the main conference, with attendance to the HDR Symposium covered in the conference cost. We now invite HDR students in Engineering Education Research (EER) to apply to participate in the HDR symposium by submitting the attached document (2-page maximum) to ashlee.pearson@student.rmit.edu.au. The deadline for submission has been extended to COB Tuesday 29 September 2020. Notice of acceptance will be provided by 22 September for those that applied before the original 14 September 2020 deadline and by 06 October 2020 for those who submit after the original 14 September. Accepted participants will be required to prepare a summary poster of their work for facilitated group discussions (Further details provided to those accepted).
